Styra Declarative Authorization Service Now Available in AWS Marketplace

Styra DAS is the fastest and easiest way for organizations of any size to operationalize Open Policy Agent across Kubernetes, microservices or custom APIs

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Dec. 1, 2020

Styra, Inc., the founders of Open Policy Agent (OPA) and leaders in cloud-native authorization, today announced that Styra is now a member of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN), and all three editions of Styra Declarative Authorization Service (DAS) — Free, Pro and Enterprise — are available in AWS Marketplace. Styra DAS is the fastest and easiest way to operationalize OPA at scale across Kubernetes, microservices or custom APIs, and now platform engineers and application development teams have an additional way to access Styra DAS directly through AWS Marketplace. This availability continues the vision of Styra to unify authorization across the cloud-native stack and empower more teams to take advantage of the speed and security of policy-as-code.

On Nov. 17, Styra announced its three-tier product offering for Styra DAS. Now available in AWS Marketplace, teams of virtually any size and stage have access to budget-friendly and fast options to operationalize OPA at scale across the stack. Platform engineers and teams can deploy DAS in just minutes and will have access to more than 100 built-in policies, as well as full enterprise-grade monitoring, impact analysis and decision logging. These new offerings enable a self-service experience and eliminate the need for learning and custom coding OPA policies for Kubernetes admission control.

“When our founders created OPA, we had the goal of ensuring all teams could use it — regardless of size, maturity or budget, ” said Bill Mann, chief executive officer at Styra. “These new editions, combined with AWS Marketplace ease of deployment, are the fastest and simplest way to implement Open Policy Agent. We’re excited to be working with AWS to offer these free and frictionless ways to help all teams build secure and performant cloud-native applications with OPA.”

Developers, DevOps and platform engineering teams have proven OPA and Styra DAS in production to mitigate risk, reduce human error and accelerate application development in today’s dynamic multi-cloud world with Kubernetes, Envoy, Terraform, Kafka and more. OPA was initially proven out at scale by the likes of Netflix, Capital One, Atlassian, Pinterest and others, and just two years later, has reached the point of over one million downloads per week. Styra DAS, built on OPA, provides a single control plane for authorization both within applications and for the infrastructure they run upon.
