Styra Ranks Among Highest-scoring Businesses on Inc. Magazine’s Annual List of Best Workplaces for 2021

The recognition underscores the company’s commitment to building an inclusive, supportive and innovative workplace culture

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — May. 12, 2021

Styra, Inc., the founders of Open Policy Agent (OPA) and leaders in cloud-native authorization, has been named to Inc. magazine’s annual list of the Best Workplaces for 2021. Hitting newsstands May 18 in the May/June 2021 issue, and as part of a prominent Inc.com feature, the list is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of American companies that have created exceptional workplaces and company culture whether teams are operating in person or remotely.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by Inc. as one of the best workplaces in the U.S.,” said Bill Mann, CEO of Styra. “At Styra, we’re building new solutions for a new type of application development, and that also means empowering a new generation of innovators—both within Styra, and in our community of adopters and customers. We’re always looking for ways to improve our employee experience, and will continue to prioritize our employees’ career growth, people operations and diversity as we grow and scale.”

In the Inc. survey, the company’s employees stated that senior leaders of the organization value them as their most important resource and 100% of them feel highly-engaged at work. The inclusion of Styra in Inc.’s Best Workplaces comes on the heels of strong company results in the past year. This includes over 300% growth year-over-year, 90% headcount increase, and record-breaking open source project success with OPA being awarded graduated status from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).

Collecting data from thousands of submissions, Inc. singled out 429 honorees this year. Each nominated company took part in an employee survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace, on topics including management effectiveness, perks, and fostering employee growth. The organization’s benefits were also audited to determine the company’s overall score and ranking.

“The definition of a positive workplace has changed drastically over the past year,” says Inc. magazine editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “Stocked fridges and nap pods were no longer perks many companies could rely on once work went remote. So, this year’s list is even more important as it reveals organizations that continue to enrich the lives of its employees amid a pandemic.”
